When I started smoking pot at a young age and was lectured at, my excuse was always that it is healthy, it helps me sleep, and it makes me happier. At the time, I said that but I didn’t know the extent to that truth, and probably mostly smoked it out of rebellion. Now, years later, I have gone through my fair share of bud, and continue to use it, however more aware and educated of the benefits it has.
One aspect of marijuana that I learned is that it’s made up of more than 400 chemical entities. The most commonly known and strongest link to your “high” is called tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. There are products that you can buy that essentially have separated compounds of marijuana for different medical purposes. That’s right, you can reap the benefits of marijuana without getting stoned. If this had been more commonly known when I was a teenager, maybe I wouldn’t have had an excuse to get high!
A recently trendy and essential compound of the marijuana plant is called Cannabidiol, otherwise known as CBD. It can be taken in the form of oils, capsules, hemp pre-rolls and bud, edibles, and so much more. The best part: it’s legal. An 18 year old could potentially order high CBD/low THC weed online and face no consequences- as long as their parents are chill with it of course.
I take CBD oil on a daily basis, about 50mg a day and sometimes more if I’m dealing with soreness or cramps. There’s a lot I could write about it, and will probably cover it in more depth in future articles, but here’s a quick understanding of what CBD is and how it could potentially change your quality of life:
- It can heal your body and mind:
A few well known benefits are:
- curing cancer tumors
- preventing the growth of free radicals(which are the cause of cancer)
- helping people with substance abuse
- reducing seizures for the epileptic
- reducing diabetes
- relieving anxiety and depression
- alleviating cramps(I can attest to that one)
- so so much more.
If you are suffering from one or more of these ailments, please don’t hesitate to try CBD as it may drastically improve your health and overall well being.
- It does NOT get you high:
As I covered earlier, there are different compounds in marijuana, some that get you high, and some that don’t. CBD does not. Many kids with epilepsy and elderly that aren’t looking for the psychedelic effects will take CBD and don’t notice any head change. This is GREAT for you big aspirers who get couch lock every time you hit the joint. The closest to a high you’ll feel from CBD is the intense relief from any pain you might have.
- It might save you money:
A good bottle of CBD oil, which can greatly benefit someone diagnosed with ADHD, costs roughly $120 and can last the whole month or longer . You can spend more or less depending upon the quality. There are expenses associated with health problems that aren’t talked about as much, such as taking days off work, physical or mental therapy sessions, and an overall decrease in productivity. And while your insurance might cover your Oxy’s or xanax, chances are that you’ll be paying more out of pocket down the road to treat your side effects. We can skip that whole mess and cure the root of the problem with cannabidiols.
- It is generally made from legal hemp plants:
Although CBD’s can be isolated from plants that contain high THC, it is mostly made from hemp plants that are less than .3 percent THC and have high cannabidiol levels. Hemp is legal to have/grow and is used for making sustainable clothing, healthfoods, biodegradable plastics, and lots more.
After seeing my dog’s seizures stop immediately from a few droppers of CBD oil, and after taking it for months and seeing a radical shift in my health, I am confident to say that it is a revolutionary medicine. It has been and will continue to act as a potent remedy for people suffering from all types of health issues.
The disclaimer is that everyone has different bodies and genetic makeup meaning what works for me might not work for you. CBD’s have helped hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, but there are people who don’t sit well with it for whatever reason. Just like how some people can eat dairy and others can’t. Side effects and allergies are extremely uncommon but also mild, so don’t worry about going into anaphylactic shock from a little CBD. Try it out if you’re looking for a potent remedy or for preventive health, you’ll most likely love it and reap the benefits you need most.
I buy my CBD oil from http://www.westcoastcbdsupply.com and have had an awesome experience with their customer service and quality of products. Although it wasn’t easy at first to drop the money on an oz bottle of oil, I found that it was an investment in the most important thing- my well being. Knowing that I have a remedy for hungover mornings and muscle pain from standing so long at work, I am at ease and have more time in my day to enjoy the moment.
Feel free to do your own research, look into testimonials, and make your own decision as to whether CBD could help you or someone you know. It might just be the remedy you’ve been seeking.
